No boats were working Irish waters with any regularity during 2009.  Apart from the 1 pod spotted by Adrian and I bust spotted by the Rosguill there were no other definite sightings.  There were oil slicks for a week or 2 off west Donegal but no sightings.  ICAAT reduced the BFT quota to 17,000 tons for commercial fishing but “black” fish would not figure in quotas.  As of now I am unsure of the future.
